I was raised in Hope, AR, but metaphorically speaking I was raised in art and design. My mom still has a news clipping of me at three years old painting in our local arts council. Every kind of art (musical, visual, theatrical) always fascinated me, but when you grow up in a small town in the south, art isn’t really seen as a viable career path. I spent most of my life not knowing what I wanted to do. I photographed and did other art as a hobby, but that was all it was to me.

 

It wasn’t until I entered into the Doodle4Google contest my senior year in high school that I knew that I wanted to design. There was something so freeing about creating and communicating a message to an audience through art. I spent a long time unsure of a lot about myself, but I know that this is what I’m supposed to do.
